The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar took her last breath today at the age of 92. The celebrated artist was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to the deterioration in her health recently and was on a ventilator in the ICU. Reportedly, she passed away today in the morning at 8:12 am. While earlier this year in January, she was diagnosed with Covid-19 and also with pneumonia.

Meanwhile, last month a lot of false reports were doing rounds on the internet about Lata Ji's health. Her team took a decision to issue a statement regarding the same to avoid such rumours.
Born on September 28, 1929, Lata Ji began her singing career in Bollywood in 1942. The legend has lent her voice to over 5,000 songs in over a thousand Hindi and 36 regional films. She has been awarded some of the most prestigious awards of the nation including Padma Bhushan (1969), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1989), Maharashtra Bhushan (1997), Padma Vibhushan (1999), Bharat Ratna (2001), Legion of Honour (2007).
In the last week of January, while talking to Etimes, Asha Bhosle mentioned Lata Mangeshkar's health issues and told the press that she has been better and out of ICU. However, a few weeks after that Lata Ji got admitted back to the hospital due to her deteriorating health.
The last rites will take place at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
