Lee Byung-hun to star and produce Netflix film based on the novel I Believe In A Thing Called Love

The film is based on the novel by Maurene Goo who is also the executive producer.

South Korean star Lee Byung-hun is all set to star and produce a romantic film for Netflix. The YA romance movie is titled I Believe In A Thing Called Love and is based on the book by Maurene Goo of the same name. Talking about the plot of the film, The Hollywood Reporter stated that it's about a girl named Desi, an overachieving high school senior who decides to use the laws of K-drama romances to land herself a boyfriend.

In the film, Lee will be seen as Desi's dad and along with him, Maurene will be executive producing the film. In a statement, she told THR, "I Believe in a Thing Called Love has found a home with Netflix! I’m so proud of my amazing team Yulin, A-Major, and BH Entertainment and it’s a thrill to finally share this exciting news."

While producer Mary Lee added, "Maurene found a way to tap into the fun world of K-dramas through the perspective of a girl who learns that life is something that you can’t control, and Yulin’s voice was perfect for the adaptation."

Meanwhile, talking about Byung-hun, he has been a part of the entertainment industry for more than 25 years now. The 50-year-old actor has been a part of a few Hollywood projects namely G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, I Come with the Rain, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Red 2, Terminator Genisys, Misconduct and The Magnificent Seven.

He also starred in several K-Drama series like Asphalt Man, White Nights 3.98, Happy Together, Beautiful Days, Iris, All In, Diplomat Kosaku Kuroda and the latest being Mr Sunshine.
