The team of PS Mithran's Sardar, starring Karthi in the lead, has been busy shooting some crucial action portions in Mysore recently. The makers had released a few stills from the film recently which had Karthi, the director and Munishkanth who play a key role in the film.

The actor is playing dual roles in the project after a decade-long hiatus. The last time he was seen essaying dual roles was in Siva's Siruthai which was the remake of Tollywood hit Vikramarkudu. The story of Sardar is said to revolve around a father-son relationship. A cop who goes on to take many risks to save his father, a prisoner, forms the movie's plot.

We have now learnt that the film's digital rights have been acquired by aha Tamil which forayed into Kollywood a month ago. The action flick will have a post theatrical release on the OTT platform. The makers are yet to announce an official release date for Sardar, though.

Karthi's next project is expected to be Muthiah's Viruman, the digital rights of which has been bagged by Disney+ Hotstar. Though it was said to be a summer release after its shooting was wrapped up a few months ago, there hasn't been any update further.

Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan play female leads in Sardar which has Simran, too, playing a pivotal character in it. GV Prakash has composed music for the movie which has Ruben handling editing and George C Williams handling cinematography. K Kadhir is monitoring art direction for Sardar.

The team has been canning a few action scenes of late under the direction of stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan. Karthi's acclaimed movie Theeran Adhigaram Ondru (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) was the last film which had Dhilip teaming up with the actor.
