The OTT options include a host of Kannada dubbed titles

It’s the weekend following the Deepavali festivities and big-ticket movie releases, so there aren’t too many titles to look forward to in theatres. Last week, there was Roaring Star Sriimurali’s Bagheera, which is doing well at the box office, and it still a week before Century Star Shivarajkumar’s Mufti prequel, Bhairathi Ranagal releases. There are a couple of original Kannada films, this week, apart from the re-release of a famous Darshan movie.

BTS – Behind the Scenes

The Kannada theatrical release for the week is BTS-Behind the Scenes, an anthology about the madness of cinema. One of the directors of the film, describes it as the madness as makers and viewers and the threshold they can push themselves are creators. The cast includes Jahangeer Ninasam, Aahan, Medini Kelamane, Koushik Gowda, Vijay Krishna, Sriprirya, Mahadev Prasad.

Navagraha

Dinakar Thoogudeepa’s Reservoir Dogs adaptation, featuring the sons of popular Kannada villains, like Darshan, Srujan Lokesh, Dharma Keerthiraj, Vinnod Prabhakar, Tarun Kishore Sudhir, among others, is back in theatres this week. The film revolves around an elaborate heist plan to steal the Mysuru Ambari.

Yevam

The Telugu crime drama, featuring Chandini Chowdary in the lead, with Vasishta N Simha as the antagonist, has been on OTT in its original form for a while, but the Kannada-dubbed version will be available now. The film, directed by Prakash, revolves around a rookie cop’s investigation into a missing girls' cases.

Yevam Review - Chandini Chowdary shines in this botched-up thriller

Vettaiyan

Superstar Rajinikanth’s collaboration with TJ Gnanavel resulted in Vettaiyan, a film in which the actor played a trigger-happy cop, whose hasty investigation into the death of an acquaintance leads him on the wrong chase. How he then strives to course correct is the premise of the film. The Tamil original film, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fahad Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan, among others, has now dropped on OTT with multiple audio options, including Kannada.

Vettaiyan Movie Review: Rajinikanth and TJ Gnanavel’s film on encounter killings is honest but a starry mess with too many things to say

Director Jithin Lal’s action adventure film is set across three time periods with Tovino Thomas playing Maniyan, Kunjikelu and Ajayan, each tasked with protecting a vital treasure of the land. The Malayalam film was Krithi Shetty’s debut in Mollywood. The cast also includes Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Basil Joseph, Harish Uthaman, Kabir Duhan Singh, Aju Varghese, etc. The film is available with Kannada audio.
