Two interesting Kannada original films in theatres this week. OTT, as of now, only has dubbed titles

August has been good for the Kannada film industry, which had literally been gasping for breath, what with audiences almost giving up on Sandalwood, as far as theatrical releases go. Duniya Vijay got people back in theatres with Bheema, which Ganesh followed up with Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi. The two films ending the month - an A rated hard-hitting action thriller, and a comedy drama - hope to continue this trend.

As far as OTT releases go, dubbed content is what audiences can look forward to now, what with no major announcements yet about a Kannada film release.

Here's a look at the Kannada original and dubbed films releasing in theatres and on OTT between August 26 and September 1.

Laughing Buddha

Produced by actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty, Laughing Buddha has Pramod Shetty in the lead, as a slightly overweight yet jovial, happy-go-lucky police constable, whose girth becomes an issue. What follows thereafter is at the crux of the story. The film also stars Teju Belawadi, Diganth, Sundar Raj, among others.
