The certificate did not come until Thursday – just a few hours before the release.
The film Lal Suitcaseta Dekhechen?, starring and produced by Soham Chakraborty, faces trouble. It is supposed to get released on February 10. But the censor certificate did not come yet. According to Soham Entertainment, the board authority had previously raised objections regarding some dialogues and songs. Those were changed. Still, the certificate did not come until Thursday – just a few hours before the release.
Soham told Anandabazar Online, “The censor board authority raised several points which I found illogical. We can not utter Radhe Radhe or take Krishna's name. We cannot use words like overdose or hallucination. Still, we changed everything according to their instructions. We explicitly stated that no drugs have been promoted.” Will the film not be released then?
Soham then said, “I just came to know that the certificate is given. It was released online on Thursday, and the hard copy just came. What is the point of this harassment? I really do not know. From a source in the Central Information and Broadcast Ministry, I heard that since I am a TMC MLA, my film had to be stopped.” Soham said that he is politically harassed. “Sourav Chakraborty and Pradip Dhar acted in my films. They joined the BJP. Someone may have a different political opinion. We want to clear cinema from politics. It is really unfortunate to see such incidents.”
The film stars Saayani Ghosh, who is a youth leader of the TMC. Is that another reason? Soham said, “It is possible. There can be anyone. But if such political wrestling happens in cinema, it will create huge problems for the entertainment industry.”
Soham said, “We are releasing, but we did not get good halls. We did not get Nandan, which is unfortunate for us.”-
