Lal Salaam, helmed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, is now set to hit the screens on February 9
Lal Salaam, starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, has zeroed in on its new release date! The Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial is all set to be released on February 9. It was initially announced that the sports drama, which will feature veteran superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo appearance, will be released on January 26. However, to avoid clashing with Lyca Productions' two other major films (Captain Miller and Mission: Chapter 1), the production house has decided to push the release date of the Vishnu Vishal-starrer to February.
The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the latest update of the release date with a caption “Namma THER THIRUVIZHA'ku Alappara kelappa neram vandhachu! LAL SALAAM hits the big screen on February 9th 2024! Save the date!” (sic)
The release date was shared along with a new poster of a chariot, hinting at a celebration-filled surprise awaiting this February!
Lal Salaam marks directorial comeback of Aishwarya Rajinikanth
Lal Salaam will see superstar Rajinikanth in an exciting cameo appearance. The film also marks the comeback of Aishwarya Rajinikanth as a director, who last helmed Cinema Veeran which was her debut documentary. The sports drama, which focusses on the politics around Test cricket, has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth playing the lead roles. Besides the lead characters, the movie will also feature cricket legend Kapil Dev (cameo appearance), Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Nirosha, Vivek Prasanna, Dhanya Balakrishna, and others in supporting roles. AR Rahman has composed songs and the original score for the film.

In an earlier post, Vishnu Vishal expressed gratitude for being part of the film and mentioned that ‘many years of hard work and honesty had got him here’.
