Lahore 1947 was recently announced by Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan and it has already become one of the most anticipated films. The film will also bring back one of the most loved on-screen couples Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta on the big screens. For the first time, this period film will bring the trio of Rajkumar Santoshi, Sunny Deol, and Aamir Khan which has got our entire attention. Apart from this renowned team, the film has got more interesting as the legendary actress Shabana Azmi, who was last seen in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Rajkumar Santoshi, who will helm this period drama, while speaking about the veteran actress, says, "Shabana ji has played various kinds of characters in her life perhaps any actress has portrayed such a variety of characters. She is a tremendously talented actress and her character in Lahore 1947 is a central character in the film and the story revolves around her character.”

Earlier, while speaking about Preity Zinta's reunion with Sunny Deol, the filmmaker said that she will be seen playing a very important role on the big screens with this film. He said, "She is indeed extremely talented, one of the finest and most natural actors in our industry. Whichever character she plays, she invests herself into it and makes the audience feel that she is made for that character.” He also said that the duo of Sunny-Preity is one of the most loved on-screen pairings and the script also demands them to make a comeback on the screens.

The filming of Lahore 1947 started today, February 13. After his box office blockbuster film, Gadar 2 this is Sunny Deol's next project. Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny have previously collaborated in successful films including, Ghayal, Ghatak, and Damini, It will be epic to watch their upcoming endeavor given their successful history of films.
