Laapataa Ladies box office collection Day 3: Directed by Kiran Roa and produced by Jio Studios and Aamir Khan Productions, Laapataa Ladies was released in cinemas on March 1. For its compelling storyline and entertainment factor, the film has received positive reviews from critics as well as audiences. The film managed to earn ₹1.70 crore on its first Sunday at the box office.
Laapataa Ladies starring Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastav in the lead roles opened in theatres collecting 75 lakhs. The film saw a jump on its second day and minted ₹1.45 crore on Saturday. Maintaining its steadiness at the ticket window, the film collected ₹1.7 crore on Sunday. The total collection of the film now stands at ₹4 crore.
The film, which also stars Ravi Kishan, Durgesh Kumar, Chhaya Kadam, Satendra Soni, and Hemant Soni has been backed by Aamir Khan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kiran Rao.
The Kiran Rao directorial minted ₹6.36 globally within three days of its release according to the box office update shared by Aamir Khan Productions on their official social media page. The film is expected to have a steady one week at the box office which will eventually be taken over by Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan, which is all set to release on March 8.
The story of the film revolves around a common man who recently gets married and loses his bride on a packed train. After mistaking another bride for his own, he only discovers this after reaching his village. He then begins his journey to find his real bride and the story unfolds. The film is based on the award-winning tale by Bilpab Goswami and is written by Sneha Desai with dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma.
Earlier, in an interview with PTI, Sneha Desai, while speaking about Laapataa Ladies said, "Goodness resides within you and one will partake and stand up for the right thing in whatever situation they are in. As much as we celebrate the power of women in Laapataa Ladies, we also celebrate the power of men who stand up and are willing to shoulder their responsibility.”
