Laal Singh Chaddha to be released on April 14 itself, affirms the makers

Helmed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chadha is the official remake of the Bollywood classic Forrest Gump

Makers of the upcoming Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha have confirmed that the movie will be released on the earlier fixed date itself. The official confirmation has come after many rumours about the postponement were spread all over the internet.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’s release date stands as Baisakhi, 14th April 2022, contrary to some misleading stories’, reads the statement shared by the makers via social media. The later part of the note thanks everyone for the support they lent throughout the making of the film.

Helmed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chadha is the official remake of the Bollywood classic Forrest Gump. The movie has Aamir Khan playing the titular role, alongside Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh. Aamir and Kareena will be sharing the screen space after Talaash. The movie also has Tollywood star Naga Chaitanya; he makes his Bollywood debut with it.

The movie is jointly backed by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios. During an earlier interview with PTI, Aamir had spoken about why he had decided to make the film. He said he loved Forrest Gump’s script and the wonderful story about the lead character. He also felt the story in it has a feel-good element to it and works as a family entertainer, too.

Scripted by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni, the music of Laal Singh Chadha has been handled by Pritam. The movie will also have stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kajol and Madhuri Dixit in cameo appearances.

While the movie will hit theatres on Baisakhi, it is also likely to lock horns with KGF: Chapter 2 at the box office. As both the movies have retained their stand, looks like the clash is inevitable.
