Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the official remake of Forrest Gump, is set to hit theatres next week.
Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, is gathering momentum as it approaches its much-awaited release date. With only a week left before the remake hits theatres, the makers have now released a new poster for the coming-of-age movie.
The poster features Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan frolicing around in a picqueresque field of yellow flowers. The two can also be seen throwing what looks to be seeds together onto the field. The poster has also been released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
“Rupa, mere saath vyah karegi? (Will you marry me, Rupa?),” is also written on the posters in the respective languages. This is a question that the titular character asks in the English original, Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks.
“Tumko pehli baar maine dekha... Baar baar phir se dekha... Dekh ke bhi dil nahin bhara, main ki karaan? (I saw you for the first time, I kept on looking at you. My heart is not satisfied, what should I do?),” wrote the official Instagram handle of Aamir Khan Productions.
Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha’s adapted screenplay is penned by actor Atul Kulkarni. Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios have bankrolled the remake, which also stars Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in important roles, with the former making his Bollywood debut.
The makers released the movie’s trailer a couple of months ago and it received mixed reactions from the fans. The trailer has over 49 million views on YouTube. Telling the story of a young boy who grows up to be a successful man, Laal Singh Chaddha is set to hit theatres on August 11.
