Laal Singh Chaddha: It’s a wrap! Aamir Khan’s film is all set for Christmas release

Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated film Laal Singh Chaddha is gearing up for a Christmas release this year. The upcoming comedy-drama is an official Hindi adaption of the Academy Award winner Forrest Gump, which stars Tom Hanks. Meanwhile, the shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha recently wrapped up in Mumbai and the cast and crew gathered on the set to celebrate it.

The forthcoming film is backed by the Aamir Khan Productions and also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as the leading lady and the Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya in a pivotal role.

In a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle, Chaitanya revealed about bagging an important role in Laal Singh Chaddha and mentioned that he got a call from Aamir Khan himself. After discussing the initial modalities of the script, the final discussion took place in Mumbai and soon after, the South sensation was on board. "It was like magic! Aamir said he’d watched some of my performances and trailers of my film and was very impressed and that he felt I’d be apt for the role,” he added.

In July, during shooting his part for Laal Singh Chaddha, Naga had shared a sneak peek from the set on Instagram and captioned, “Grateful… #Bala #laalsinghchaddha @aamirkhanproductions (sic).”

At the same time, Aamir Khan Productions also shared a set picture with a few cast and crew members including Aamir, Chaitanya and Kiran Rao, on its official Instagram handle. The post read, “Welcome Bala, stealer of hearts, you have already stolen ours Love. Kiran & Aamir (sic).”

The Advait Chandan directorial is penned by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. The film is expected to release during Christmas.
