Prithviraj Sukumaran is now set to resume the shooting of his third directorial venture L2 Empuraan. The next schedule of the Mohanlal-starrer will go on floors in Chennai, very soon.
Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently on a high with the massive success of his dream project, Aadujeevitham. However, the multi-faceted talent has no time to celebrate, as he is now getting back to his busy shooting schedules. Prithviraj and his team are planning to resume the third shooting schedule of L2 Empuraan, his third directorial venture which stars Mohanlal in the lead role. Recently, director Nirmal Sahadev dropped a major update on L2E’s upcoming Chennai schedule, with a social media post.
Nirmal Sahadev, the Ranam director who has joined the L2 Empuraan team as the creative director of the project, recently took to his official social media handles and dropped a major update. The filmmaker shared a location still with actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran, with a caption that reads: “Walking into the next schedule like a G! @therealprithvi.” From Nirmal Sahadev’s post, it has been confirmed that Prithviraj has already started the preparations for the next schedule of his third directorial venture.
Meanwhile, the grapevine suggests that the filmmaker and his team will kickstart the next schedule of the Mohanlal-starrer in Chennai next week. Even though nothing much has been revealed about the next schedule of L2 Empuraan, the recent updates suggest that director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to wrap it up by the end of April 2024. In that case, the Kerala schedule of the highly anticipated project will begin in May 2024, after a short break.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with a leading online media, Prithviraj Sukumaran confirmed that the team is planning an extensive Kerala schedule for the Mohanlal-starrer. The Kerala portions of L2 Empuraan will be shot at the major locations of the capital city Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Vandiperiyar. Later, the cast and crew members will resume the pending foreign schedules of the film.
According to the reports, the Lucifer sequel is expected to have brief shooting schedules in the UAE and other foreign countries. But, it will go on floors only after director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team wrap up both the Chennai and Kerala schedules of their ambitious project. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that the makers are planning to release the film on March 28, 2025, the date that marks the 6th year of Lucifer's release. However, these reports are not officially confirmed, yet.
