L2 Empuraan, the upcoming Mohanlal starrer directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran has been creating major stir on social media, owing to the recent updates on its upcoming schedules.
Mohanlal is joining hands with actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran for the third time, for the upcoming project L2 Empuraan. The movie, a sequel to the 2019-released film Lucifer originally started rolling in October 2023. However, the shooting was delayed unexpectedly, due to the bad weather conditions in Gujarat, which is a prime location of the film. As per the recent updates, Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are all set to resume the pending Gujarat schedule of the film soon, as the rains have stopped.
If the recent updates are to be believed, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to resume the Gujarat schedule of the Mohanlal starrer, in a few days. It is also confirmed that the Abu Dhabi schedule, which was expected to begin soon after Onam 2024 week, has been put on hold due to the same. The team reportedly decided to return to Gujarat for the pending shoot, as the rains in the state have finally stopped. The entire Gujarat portions are expected to be wrapped in a brief schedule, after which the team will take yet another break.

After wrapping up the Gujarat schedule of the Mohanlal starrer, director Prithviraj Sukumaran is reportedly planning to resume the filming of his long-delayed film Vilayath Buddha. The pending shoot of the Jayan Nambiar, which majorly involves action sequences, is expected to be wrapped up in less than a week. Later, the filmmaker and his team might fly to Abu Dhabi, for the next foreign schedule of the film. The entire filming process of L2 Empuraan is expected to be wrapped up by November 2024.

Mohanlal is returning to play Stephen Nedumpally aka Kureshi Abraam, while Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier reprise their characters, Zayed Masood, Jatin Ramdas, Govardhan, and Priyadarshani Ramdas, in the Lucifer sequel. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tamil actor Arjun Das, Sharaf U Dheen, and Shine Tom Chacko, have joined the franchise, in its new installment. If things go as planned, L2 Empuraan will hit the theatres in March 2025.
