Mohanlal is set to reprise his much-loved character Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Ab’Ram in the second installment of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Lucifer franchise, L2 Empuraan.
Mohanlal is reuniting with actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran for the highly anticipated upcoming project, L2 Empuraan. The movie, which is a sequel to the actor-director duo’s blockbuster 2019 film Lucifer, started rolling in October 2023 with a Ladakh schedule. Later, the team wrapped up the project’s first foreign schedule in the UK, recently.
The L2 Empuraan team is now busy shooting the film in the US and leading man Mohanlal is also a part of the schedule. In some of the recent pictures that are now winning the internet, the veteran actor is seen sporting his brand-new look for the project.
In the recent pictures from the L2 Empuraan location which are shared by a team member on social media, Mohanlal is seen sporting his new, dashing look for the highly anticipated film. In the pictures which are now going viral on the internet, the veteran actor is seen sporting a new cropped hairdo, with a trimmed beard. The superstar looks handsome as always in an oversized black hooded sweatshirt, which he teamed up with matching cargo trousers and a pair of black shoes.

The Mohanlal fans and Malayalam cine-goers are now going gaga over the recent clicks of the Malaikottai Vaaliban actor. Well, now it is safe to assume that the leading man will be appearing in two or three unique looks in the highly anticipated Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial. However, we will have to wait till the makers of the film reveal the looks officially, to know if the assumptions come true.

Mohanlal is reprising the role of Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Ab’Ram in the movie, while director Prithviraj Sukumaran returns to play Zayed Masood. Unlike the first outing, the actor-filmmaker's character is expected to have more screen space in L2 Empuraan, which is penned by Murali Gopy. Along with the duo, many popular faces of Lucifer, including Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, Saniya Iyappan, and others are expected to return to the sequel.
The makers have also roped in many popular stars of the South, Bollywood, and foreign film industries to play key roles in the film. Sujith Vaassudev handles the cinematography of L2 Empuraan. Deepak Dev composes the songs and original score. The project, which is jointly produced by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, is expected to hit the big screens by the first quarter of 2025.
