L2 Empuraan: Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran to kickstart the Abu Dhabi schedule soon; major updates out

Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran are set to resume the filming of L2 Empuraan, very soon. Tovino Thomas is also set to join the team for the new schedule of the Lucifer sequel.

L2 Empuraan, the highly anticipated second installment in the Lucifer franchise, started rolling in October 2023. The Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial, which stars Mohanlal in the titular role is nearing the final stages of its production. After the ongoing schedule break, the next schedule of L2 Empuraan has been slated to start rolling in Abu Dhabi, in a few days. As per the reports, Tovino Thomas is set to join Mohanlal and Prithviraj, in the new schedule of the film.

L2 Empuraan Abu Dhabi schedule to start rolling soon?

If the recent updates are to be believed, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are all set to resume the foreign shoot of L2 Empuraan, with an Abu Dhabi schedule shortly. The actor-director, who is busy with the shooting of his upcoming Hindi project in Mumbai, is planning to get back to the making of the Mohanlal starrer, after the Onam celebrations. As per the reports, the team will wrap up the Abu Dhabi schedule within two weeks.

Tovino Thomas about his collaboration with Mohanlal in L2 Empuraan

The popular actor, who played the much-loved character Jatin Ramdas in Lucifer, is set to reprise his role in the upcoming second installment. Tovino Thomas, who is busy promoting his next outing Ajayante Randam Moshanam, recently revealed that he has quite a few combination scenes with leading man Mohanlal in L2 Empuraan, unlike the first installment. The actor is expected to have a longer screentime, in the upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial. Tovino was also a part of the USA and Gujarat schedules of the film.

Along with Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas, popular faces of Lucifer, including Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Baiju Santhosh, Sai Kumar, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Saniya Iyappan, and others are reprising their roles from the original, in the sequel. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tamil actor Arjun Das, Sharaf U Dheen, and Shine Tom Chacko, have joined the franchise, in its new installment. If things go as planned, L2 Empuraan will hit the theatres in March 2025.
