Beginning in the new year, Arjun Kapoor will enter his second decade in the film business. If the previous ten years have taught him anything, it is to keep the zeal and spontaneity he had when he first appeared in front of the camera in Ishaqzaade (2012).

The actor told Mid Day that when one first starts out, their decisions are spontaneous. One will eventually be advised to use strategy. Then, as life comes full circle, one understands that they should never lose their inner kid. The actor still thinks about what Arjun wanted to achieve in 2012: he wanted to work hard and make decisions based on emotion rather than logic.

Kuttey, his most recent film, is a shining example of Arjun going with his gut. Some people might think that the crime comedy by up-and-coming director Aasmaan Bhardwaj is a risky choice. However, the actor claims that all it took for him to join was one Zoom call.

Kaminey a 2009 film by Vishal Bhardwaj, was being produced concurrently with Kuttey. Arjun was confident of his safety. Because of his writing and music, the vibe around Vishal Bhardwaj has changed. Luv Ranjan then joined the team. They therefore had two producers who would fully support Aasmaan's idea. Kuttey hasn't been marketed as a classic film. It's a new kind of movie made with the utmost honesty for people who like to watch actors and directors push the limits.

The fact that the movie had some of the best performers working today, including Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu, and Konkona Sensharma, only strengthened Arjun's belief in it. In particular, the actor was looking forward to working with Tabu. He added that she made her cinematic debut in Prem, produced by his father, Boney Kapoor. They still engage in the same lighthearted banter now. Kuttey was an excuse; the actual reason was to work with Tabu, which is something he frequently utters. Arjun considers it a blessing to have collaborated on the film with Konkona. He simply wanted to express his admiration for her acting and directing abilities.
