Arjun Kapoor in Kuttey
Kuttey marks the directorial debut of renowned filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's son Aasmaan Bhardwaj. The Tabu and Arjun Kapoor starrer is all set to hit theatres in the mid of January. Recently, talking about how he landed the dark-comedy movie, the Ishaqzade actor shared that he impulsively chose it.
Arjun also mentioned the way he took part in all his recently released films. In a recent interview with Film Companion, the actor mentioned how he likes all sorts of cinema and how some actors get to carry baggage while starting to work in the mainstream industry. "There is a huge side of me that likes all sorts of cinema. I think there is a lot of baggage that you carry because you start out working the mainstream material. And sometimes, it gets misconstructed that so and so wants to do a certain kind of film," he added.
He further shared, "You get caught in a lot of things when you are doing mainstream films. It's the nature of the business. You might be as honest, but sometimes what happens is you collaborate to bring more people in. Sometimes you just need to bring yourself out and present yourself also." He finally revealed how chose the Aasmaan Bhardwaj film and said, "I impulsively chose Kuttey. I still remember the zoom call very clearly. I narrated the film and Vishal (Bhardwaj) Sir was just there. I think the fact that I saw him narrating the film he has written with such clarity with Vishal Sir I was convinced that this boy knows what he wants to do with it."
Kuttey, which also has Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj in pivotal roles, is all set to have a theatrical release on January 13, 2023.
