The film Kuthiraivaal has been in the news for a while as it was said to have received applause from the audience during its screening at various film festivals. The movie directed by Manoj L Jahson and Shyam Sunder are now ready for a theatrical release. The makers have announced that the film, which has been bankrolled by Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions, will hit the screens on March 18.
They also released the movie's trailer which offers a sneak peek into its plot. Kalaiyarasan plays the protagonist in Kuthiraivaal which has Anjali Patil, Anand Sami and Baby Manasa among others essaying key roles in it.
The two-and-a-half minute trailer revolves around the life of a care-free youngster who wakes up with a horse tail on his back after experiencing a bizarre dream in the night. He is clueless about the changes that happened to him overnight and goes on to find the reason behind the outlandish dream which occurred to him.
The film which is billed as a fantasy thriller touches upon various relevant topics like casteism, class ostracization, economic disparity, and so on. Karthik Muthukumar has handled cinematography for the project which has editing by Gridaran MKP.
G Rajesh has written screenplay and dialogues for Kuthiraivaal which has Anthony BJ Ruban at the helm of sound designing and Ramu Thangaraj handling production design. Both Kalaiyarasan and Anjali Patil have played significant roles in Pa Ranjith's films before.
While Kalai was seen in Madras (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), Kabali and Sarpatta Parambarai (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) in different characters, Anjali played a ferocious activist in Kaala (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). Ranjith's last production venture was Samuthirakani-starrer Writer (streaming on aha Tamil). His next directorial project is the untitled movie with Vikram.
