Hesham Abdul Wahab has sung and composed the number lyricised by Shiva Nirvana
A popular mainstream composer, in an interview, had once compared a music album to a wedding invitation, stressing how it must compel a viewer to (attend the wedding) watch a film in theatres. Going by its music, Kushi, the Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha starrer, is a wedding you can’t afford to miss. Written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
There’s immense curiosity around the film, thanks to the popularity of its songs - Na Roja Nuvve, Aradhya. Shiva Nirvana has penned the lyrics for all the numbers in the album. The third single, the title track, sung by the composer Hesham Abdul Wahab and choreographed by Brinda, was launched today. The number, filmed on the lead pair Vijay and Samantha, was extensively shot in Turkey.
“The most awaited song and your new favourite chartbuster is here #KushiTitleSong out now. Music and sung by @HeshamAWMusic,” the production house, Mythri Movie Makers, tweeted to confirm the launch of the third song. It is a romance number where the guy expresses his admiration for his lady love and how he can’t imagine his existence in her absence.
‘Hey… Nechheli nechheli vachhi visirinadhi vechhani vechhani vala…Muchhatagaa nannu gilli gichhinadhi kala.… Vennela vennela velli virisinadhi kannula kannula mila… Langaru dhaati dhooki ponginadhi ala… Nuvvu nenu saath hein,’ the opening lines in the Telugu version read. There’s a liberal mix of Hindi and Telugu to suggest the different cultural backgrounds of the characters.
The terrific on-screen chemistry between the leads is the USP of the number, while the lyrical value is just about passable and the rendition, okayish. Hesham Abdul Wahab has also sung the Hindi version written by Raqeeb Alam. Kushi, which releases in theatres across Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam on September 1, also stars Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar.
