Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha's Kushi started with a bang at the box office. But the occupancy has fallen during the weekdays. Read to know the latest collections.
Kushi is Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha's latest release which opened to a decent word of mouth on September 1, 2023. The first weekend collections of the film were close to Rs 70 crores as revealed by the makers. The Shiva Nirvana film had to stay afloat on the weekend to be in a safe zone. But it did not happen as the Kushi has fallen flat at the box office.
The film had to click on a key Monday but that did not happen. Also, the consistent rains in the Nizam area have spoiled the chance of the film at the box office. What's shocking is that the occupancy of Kushi fell down at more than 80% which is a shocker. After such a good buzz, the film has failed to take off after the first weekend.

The occupancy for the film was not even 50% yesterday September 6, 2023. Seeing this, the trade experts say that a few distributors in areas in Nizam and Vijay will lose heavily as they have shelled out big numbers for the pre-release rights of the film. The makers spent a lot of money on the promotion of the film but that has not helped the film.
Mythri Movie Makers sold the film's theatrical rights to a whopping Rs 53 crores and Kushi has made only Rs 40 crores share so far. There was an opinion that the family audience would throng the audience but that did not happen and the rains have also played spoilsport. Samantha did not promote the film after the release which is also a disadvantage for Kushi.
The OTT rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix and the word is that the film will be out in the first week of October 2023. Now that Jawan and Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty have been released, Kushi will find it very tough to make its presence felt at the box office.
