Kushi was one of the biggest Telugu releases in recent times. The film had Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles and Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori and Majili fame directed the film which was released in Hindi and other southern languages on September 1, 2023.

The film has been promoted a lot in the last week or so and this resulted in the film's solid day-one box office numbers across the globe. We have come to know that Kushi has made Rs 16 crores net on day one in all languages of release. This is a very impressive number and the word is that at least 70% of the revenue has come from the Telugu version.

The family drama has taken off to a dream start in Telugu states and Kushi will post better numbers on days two and three as per the trade pundits. The producers, Mythri Movie Makers officially announced that the film will at least have four weeks of run at the ticketing windows.

On the other hand, Kushi has taken a dream start in the US as well. It has crossed the $800k mark already and will hit the coveted one million mark today. With the long weekend on in the US, Kushi is going to make big money and the makers are expecting over 2 million in its collections. The clean content of the film is yet another advantage for the US audience to throng the theatres.

Kushi has been in the making for over two years now. As Samantha fell sick, the film was stalled for over a year. Finally, it was released and the result is solid as the audience has given the family drama a thumbs up. The film deals with a couple who belong to families who have different religious beliefs.

Kushi OTT rights details

Netflix has grabbed the OTT rights of the film for a fancy price and will stream it in the first week of October as per the news. Kushi is quite special for Vijay Deverakonda as his last film, Liger was a big flop at the box office.
