Mollywood actor Prithviraj Sukumaran seems to have multiple OTT releases lined up for this year. The actor, who made his debut with Cold Case on Amazon Prime Video in June, will be seen in Manu Warrier’s Kuruthi, which is also co-produced by him.
The socio-political thriller, which also has Roshan Mathew, Murali Gopy, Srinda, Naslen, Mamukkoya, Sagar Surya, Shine Tom Chacko and Navas Vallikunnu as part of the stellar ensemble cast, will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from August 11. While recent Malayalam movies have been released in multiple OTT platforms, Kuruthi will only be available on Amazon Prime Video.
The film revolves around Roshan Mathew’s character Ibrahim, a God-fearing man who has endured a painful past, and what happens when his faith gets tested after a vengeful man, Laiq (Prithviraj), tries to break into his house. The movie is said to have a relevant theme that mirrors the current socio-political scenario while presenting it in an engaging manner with action scenes, songs and emotions.

Kuruthi’s songs and trailer that were released recently promises Kuruthi to be an entertaining thriller that is sure to have the audiences on the edge of their seats. With Prithviraj playing a role with a negative shade, it will also be interesting to see how he pulls it off.
Roshan, who has thrilled audiences in the past year with movies such as Kappela and C U Soon, has a more mature character in Kuruthi. Supporting him are two youngsters – Naslen of Thaneermathan Dinangal fame and Sagar Surya of Thatteem Mutteem – and experienced talents such as Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Gopy and Mamukkoya.
