Kurup: Dulquer Salmaan hints at film’s sequel Alexander, drops video clip

The Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kurup has been a controversial, yet curious project since its announcement. The movie, which was released last month, turned out to be a hit despite the heated arguments it created. Though the movie’s climax had dropped a hint about its sequel, there were no further updates from the team until possibly now.

Amidst the curious audience, Dulquer has now dropped a stylish video clip of his character today, paving a strong hint at the sequel Alexander. His character Kurup from the movie could be seen in a new avatar in the video, and towards the end, the logo reading Kurup could be seen rewritten as Alexander.

The actor’s caption also gives a sneak peak about the reprisal of the character and moreover, it warns everyone about him. “A criminal who has captured the imagination of an entire generation. A conman hiding in plain sight. When the wolf sheds his sheep’s clothing, he is one to watch out for!!”, it reads. This has created an instant buzz all over the Internet. Fans have been showering their joy and compliments and been resharing the video.

Helmed by Srinath Rajendran Kurup revolves around the life of Sukumara Kurup, a real-life criminal who is still on the run. He is accused of killing Chacko, and to have faked the dead body to be his own, for claiming an insurance money, during the ’80s in Kerala.

A movie featuring Kurup as the protagonist and the crime he committed as the plot progression, had raised many questions to the makers, including the uneasiness of Chacko’s family members. Besides Dulquer, the movie had a stellar cast that included Indrajith Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Shobita Dhulipala, Tovino Thomas, and Shine Tom Chacko, among others.
