Kurukkan, an investigative comedy film helmed by Jayalal Divakaran and starring Sreenivasan and Vineeth Sreenivasan in lead roles, is now on OTT after its theatrical run. The film, which was released in theatres on July 27, received mixed reviews from audiences.

What is Kurukkan about?

Kurukkan revolves around an eccentric cop, Dinesan (Vineeth), who is trying to solve the murder of a social media influencer. Dinesan, who likes social media attention, frames a suspect, Hari (Shine Tom), to quickly close the case. Due to the lack of witnesses, Dinesan approaches Krishnan (Sreenivasan), who makes a living by giving false testimonials in court.

The film mostly has courtroom scenes in which Hari attempts to prove his innocence. Kurukkan can also be called a courtroom drama with elements of slapstick humour.

Kurukkan is available to stream on Manorama Max, which has also bagged the streaming rights for Anarkali Marikar's Amala and Rajisha Vijayan's heist thriller, Kolla.

Being a comedy, Kurukkan is a good watch if you are in the mood to watch an entertainment film. The movie uses slapstick humour and has eccentric characters.

Considering that there is an investigation track in the film, it keeps audiences engaged and piques their interest in the goings-on in the film.

Lead actor Vineeth Sreenivasan impresses as an eccentric cop. He is the perfect pick to bring to life the seriousness and quirky nature of his character.

The veteran actor Sreenivasan, who is known for his comedy roles ,also generates several laughs in Kurukkan.

The real-life father-son onscreen combination of Sreenivasan and Vineeth is one of the biggest highlights of the film.

Shine Tom Chacko is also good in his role. The performances of actors like Sruthy Jayan, Ashwath Lal, Srikant Murali, Malavika Menon, Gowri Nandha, and Sudheer Karamana also make Kurukkan worth a watch.
