Kurukk: First look hints at a gripping investigative thriller

The movie is touted to revolve around a real incident that happened in Kerala

Kurukk is an upcoming Malayalam investigative thriller film, written and directed by Abhijith Noorani. The plot is inspired by true events. According to reports, the movie revolves around the death of an IT couple in Kazhakootam, Thiruvananthapuram. Now the first look of the film has been released on social media. It features Indrajith Sukumaran, Indrans and Shine Tom Chacko. According to the makers, the film includes all the elements of a suspenseful investigative thriller.

The filming of the movie was completed in 50 days, spanning various locations in Thiruvananthapuram. Director Abhijith took to Instagram to share some delightful moments from the shoot. Expressing his joy, he said directing Kurukk was a beautiful experience and the film was made amid a lot of challenges. He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to everyone, who supported him throughout the making of the film.

While Rejin Santo handled camerawork, the music is done by Suresh Perinad and US Deeksh. The cast also includes Anil Anto, Mahesh, Balaji Sharma, Meera Nair and Bindu KS. Anil essays the lead character of a police officer in Kurukk who investigates the sensational murder case.  Shaji Punalal bankrolled the film, under the banner of Nisha Films.

Anil started his career as a junior artist in films like Vinodayathra and Ravana Prabhu.  After graduating from a film school, he later appeared in movies like Second Show and Immanuel. He was honoured with the ‘Best Actor’ award at Port Blair International Film Festival for his performance in the short film, Nothing But Life. Helmed by Francis Joseph Jeera, it was a psychological drama. Anil was recently seen in Sharaf U Deen’s Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnn through which actress Bhavana made a comeback to Malayalam. Meanwhile, he has also completed the shoot for his new films Aaram Thirukalpana and Mridhu Bhaave Drida Krithya.
