Debutant director Sanal Kumar Devan’s new horror-comedy film Kunjamminis Hospital is all set to release. The writers of Priyan Ottathilanu - K Abhayakumar and Anil Kurian - have penned the script of this film, while Dhyan Sreenivasan has sung a song in it. Recently, the makers revealed the trailer of Kunjamminis Hospital hinting at an immediate release.
Going by the trailer, it looks like the plot revolves around a hospital. The video begins with an introductory monologue by Dhyan. An old hospital is renovated, but since its inauguration, patients and staff members have been facing a lot of disturbances. It is thought that the ‘ghosts that once roamed the hospital’ return to haunt people again. Occurrences such as objects mysteriously falling and lights flickering become a usual sight. The trailer seems to strike a balance between horror and comedy, providing both chills and laughter.
Indrajith plays a doctor, named Leon Ilanjikkaran, while Nyla Usha essays the female lead. Nyla was also seen in a key role in the script writer’s previous film Priyan Ottathilanu. The cast also includes Baburaj, Sarayu Mohan, Binu Pappu, Harishree Ashokan and Mallika Sukumaran. Renowned actor Prakash Raj essays a pivotal role in the film. His last Malayalam film was Anoop Menon’s political drama Varaal. The actor will also be seen in Dileep’s Voice of Sathyanathan which is slated to release on July 28. Kunjamminis Hospital’s technical department consists of cameraperson Ajay David Kachappily and editor Mansoor Muthuty.
Meanwhile, Indrajith has completed the shooting of Anuradha Crime No. 59/2019 in which he dons the role of a police officer. The film is touted to be an investigative thriller, which has Anu Sithara as the female lead. There were rumours about Indrajith’s directorial debut too, featuring Mohanlal in the lead. But the actor has so far denied it. Empuraan and Ram are his other films that are yet to complete.
