Kung Fu Panda 4 is finally coming to the big screen, marking a sequel to the franchise after 8 long years. This time, there will be new villains and new roles to be fulfilled by destined warriors.
Directed by Mike Mitchel and Stephanie Ma Stine, Kung Fu Panda 4 marks the fourth edition to the DreamWorks Animation franchise, unlike the three other spinoff series on TV and OTT. The much-awaited sequel to 2016’s Kung Fu Panda 3 arrives this spring, right in time to cheer all suffering from post-Valentines, or annual exam fever.
Kung Fu Panda 4 drops in theatres March 8, 2024, onward, internationally. The film will see the return of the starry likes of Jack Black as Po Ping, Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, James Hong as Mr. Ping, Po’s adoptive goose father, Bryan Cranston as Li Shan, Po’s biological father, Ian McShane as Tai Lung, Shifu’s arch-nemesis and former disciple.
The film will also briefly feature the Furious Five, Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Mantis, and Viper, impeccably portrayed by Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, David Cross, Seth Rogen, and Lucy Liu, respectively. Since the Furious Five will have their own missions and Po will leave the Valley of Peace for his adventures in the city, their role is not as large this time.

The official trailer of Kung Fu Panda 4 was dropped on December 13, 2024. The beloved action comedy is finally coming back with a butt-kicking and fart-tastic story. The trailer offers a proper view of the plot. Poor Po, who, after months and years of practice, dedication, and loyalty, began enjoying his adventurous and risky job of being a Dragon Knight, is in for a rude shock in this cinematic installment.
Master Shifu informs Po that the time has come for him to advance to the position of Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. But in order to give others inner peace and solace, Po himself must be a master of the art of meditation. However, his thoughts keep shifting from action scenes with previous enemies to what is for dinner. And he better master it fast, because he also must choose a suitable Dragon Warrior in this short period.

To add the cherry on top, a beady, reptilian, evil Sorceress, Chameleon, is after Po’s Staff of Wisdom, which would give her the power to summon all the master villains Po has fought and banished to the Spirit Realm. In order to do all this, a Panda needs some help, Dragon Warrior or not. And he finds a variety of it in Zhen, a corsac fox, who is also a street-smart wanted thief.
Now Po must defeat Chameleon, train Zhen without letting her get on his nerves, and acquire enough spiritual leadership skills to lead the Valley. Kung Fu Panda 4 promises another never-seen-before story with the strongest villain of the franchise, Chameleon, and her tough battle with Dragon Master, cuddly and smart, Po Ping.
