Even as Kunchacko Boban is basking in the success of his latest venture Nna, Thaan Case Kodu, the actor is gearing up for the release of his biggest film in his 25-year-old career – the Malayalam-Tamil bilingual titled Ottu aka Rendagam.

The makers of the film, starring Kunchacko Boban, Arvind Swami and Jackie Shroff, announced the movie’s release date along with a motion poster, which promises that an action thriller is on the cards.

Directed by Fellini TP, the big budget film was shot in locations in Kerala, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai and Pune. Ottu, which will release in Tamil as Rendagam, will also mark the actor’s Kollywood debut. Arvind Swami and Jackie Shroff are making their Malayalam comebacks with the movie. Arvind Swami had last starred in a Mollywood film, back in 1996 when he played the male protagonist in Sridevi-starrer Devaragam. Jackie Shroff was part of Athisayan and ATM.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Kunchacko had said that having actors such as Arvind Swami and Jackie Shroff added more grandeur to the entertainer and also increases its reach.

“I am very excited about the film, which is a thriller and an entertainer. Ottu is a project that can be called a pan-Indian movie because the subject can be placed anywhere,” he said, adding it’s the most expensive movie in his career. The movie also has Aadukalam Naren, Amalda Liz and Telugu actress Eesha Rabba as part of its cast. Kunchacko and Arvind Swami play two friends in the film and the story evolves between a trip from Mangalore to Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Kunchacko Boban’s latest release Nna, Thaan Case Kodu opened to positive reviews and is currently running to packed houses. The film released in theatres on August 11 along with Tovino Thomas’ Thallumaala that hit cinema halls a day later. The collection of both movies have been heartening for producers and theatre exhibitors after Malayalam cinema had experienced a lull in the number of audience watching movies in cinema halls in the past few months.
