OTTplay has earlier reported that Ambarish Bhattacharya and Ushasi Ray will pair up together for a brand new Hoichoi series. Directed by Arkadeep Mallika Nath, the series features Rishav Basu, Anashua Majumdar, and others. On August 9, the trailer of the show was dropped.

The trailer hints at a murder mystery taking place in a girls’ hostel, Kumudini Bhavan. Run by an elderly woman, played by Anashua, Kumudini Bhavan houses a lot of suspects. There are internal tiffs between the borders.

Ambarish plays the character of a police officer and he comes to investigate a murder. Ushasi enters the hostel as a new boarder with dreams of becoming a sleuth like Byomkesh Bakshi. In the show, Rishav plays the character of a psychiatric disabled person, who stays on the top floor of the hostel. He is the grandson of Anashua. He paints and stays away from others in his reclusive room and only talks to his doctor. He also turns out to be one of the suspects and Ushasi and Ambarish suspect the truth behind his disability.

The series is scheduled to be dropped on August 28. this is the second time Ushasi will work in Arkadeep. He penned Sundarbaner Vidyasagar, in which Ushasi paired up with Riddhi Sen. The actress’ Gora 2 was dropped recently, and her performance received a positive response.

On the other hand, Ambarish has no time to respite. He is on the promotion trail of Dev’s Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo. Directed by Birsa Dasgupta, Ambarish plays Ajit in the film, which will hit the theatre on August 11.
