Kuiko on OTT: 5 reasons to stream Yogi Babu’s satirical drama
Kuiko

Kuiko, the satirical drama starring Yogi Babu and Vidharth, will be available to stream on Netflix starting December 22. Helmed by T Arul Chezhian, the film revolves around a moneylender. When his mother passes away in his hometown, he has her mortal remains preserved inside a freezer box until he returns from Saudi Arabia. How this box brings about changes in his life forms the crux of the story. Upon it's theatrical release, the film was praised for its well-crafted screenplay and the lead actors’ outstanding performances. The film was also lauded for its comical dialogues.

Perhaps this is not enough to convince you to watch the film on Netflix. No worries, for we list 5 reasons to watch Kuiko on OTT:

Subtle and simple narration

Kuiko's pace is gentle and it cleverly highlights societal messages in an unassuming and humorous manner. The story takes its time to unfold and allows viewers to connect with the characters and the underlying messages.

Impressive screenplay

T Arul Chezhian's brilliant writing shines in the film. It emphasises the importance of a compelling story and the director’s ability to convey important messages. The movie explores various themes related to people and society through well-tailored dialogues and screenplays.

Good performances

Kuiko's lead actors have done a great job, with Yogi Babu taking centre stage as Malayappan. Ilavarasu, who plays Calculator Shanmugham, delivers a brilliant performance, and other cast members like Vidaarth, Priyanka, Vinodhini, and Muthukumar contribute well to the film.

A narrative that breaks stereotypes

The film is high on humour (of course, since it's led by Yogi Babu!) and presents the truth in a straightforward manner. It tackles stereotypes and challenges generalisations, such as the portrayal of moneylenders, government schemes, and other societal norms. The movie humorously breaks down preconceived notions and sheds light on the complexities of real-life situations.

Interesting plotline

The plot revolves around Panpazhagan, a moneylender, and the events that unfold when his electric ice box for his mother's corpse is rented out for a unique purpose. The characters, including Malayappan, Calculator Shanmugham, and Thangaraj, contribute to the film's humour and depth.
