Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan have worked together in Dilwale and Bhediya . Over the years, the actors have formed a warm bond and grown to become close friends
Actress Kriti Sanon is enjoying the success of her film Crew, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu. In a recent interview, Kriti discussed how movies like Crew build more faith in producers to invest in female-led films and that the industry’s perspective towards women is changing. During the conversation, Kriti also brought up something interesting. She recalled that her Dilwale co-star Varun Dhawan is one of her closest friends in Bollywood and has been by her side during her lowest times.

How Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan broke the ice on the sets of Dilwale
While speaking to Galatta India about her relationship with Varun Dhawan, Kriti said that when she met Varun for the shooting of Dilwale, he was a stranger to her. And that she took time to open up to him. Hence, Varun thought she was arrogant, but towards the end of the film, the ice broke when Varun was unwell. Kriti said, “We were shooting for the Premika song and Varun had a fever. I am a very compassionate person and during that time, I took good care of him. That is when we became friends.”
The actress said that they became close during the promotions of Dilwale and there were times when Kriti, Varun Dhawan and Varun Sharma used to all chill out together. She stated that after the promotions, they lost touch and met at a party later, where they caught up again.
Kriti added that after that, Varun and her constantly checked up on each other. She also said that she was going through her lowest phase during COVID, and Varun was there for her by calling her to check up on her.
When Varun Dhawan gave Kriti Sanon a warm hug
Revealing more about their friendship, Kriti said that Varun is someone who is happy with her success. And not just him, but his family as well. She recalled when she won the Best Actress Award for Mimi and Varun’s mother gave her a tight hug. She said, “When I won my Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Mimi, his mother was sitting next to me, and she gave me the tightest hug.”

Kriti said that after she won the award, Varun also gave her a warm hug and whispered “I am proud of you" in her ear.
