Mimi is currently streaming on Netflix and JioCinema.
Kriti Sanon starrer Mimi was scheduled to stream on Netflix and JioCinema from July 30. However, the film got leaked and the makers released it four days early on July 26. Now, during a recent interaction, Kriti called it a 'blessing in disguise' and also cleared that she is against piracy but it worked wonders for Mimi.
The actor told Hindustan Times that if the film was slated to release theatrically and then got leaked before the release date, it would’ve been a huge setback for the film.
Kriti further said, "But since it came on OTT, we had a lot more control. It created a lot of buzz because its release was completely unexpected. Everything has a silver lining."
Interestingly, Mimi has got the highest -rating on IMDb with an 8.3/10. The film has surpassed Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture - 6.6, Queen starring Kangana Ranaut - 8.2, Raazi which stars Alia Bhatt in the leading role - 7.8 and Deepika Padukone starring film Piku - 7.6.
Talking about the same, trade analyst Atul Mohan told Outlook India, "Kriti has broken the mould with Mimi. Now she figures among the top three female stars in Bollywood after Deepika and Alia."
