Krithi Shetty: It was great fun playing sarpanch Nagalakshmi in Bangarraju

The actress opened about her character in her latest Sankranthi release in its success meet held at Rajahmundry

No female actress has enjoyed such a massive connect with young audiences as much as Krithi Shetty in the recent times. All her three Telugu films, Uppena, Shyam Singha Roy and Bangarraju, have been huge successes and there's almost nothing she could do wrong with her career at the moment. Krithi credited her co-stars, directors and the technicians for the monumental box-office run of her latest release Bangarraju at a promotional event held in Rajahmundry held earlier this week. She played the role of Nagalakshmi, an over-enthusiastic sarpanch in the film.

"Sarpanch Nagalakshmi! I hope you all liked her. Nagarjuna (garu) and Naga Chaitanya are the only people you are reminded of, whenever you hear Bangarraju. In real life too, they have a heart of gold. You realise the charm and the warmth of Nagarjuna as soon as you meet him, there's something so royal about him. Naga Chaitanya is a sweetheart and so easy to work with. I thank both of them for all their support," she said.

Talking about the role and her director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala, Krithi stated, "For the fact that I'm a good sarpanch (laughs), I'll credit the success of Bangarraju to my director Kalyan Krishna. He's an extraordinary filmmaker. I really enjoyed listening to the story when I heard it for the first time and had greater fun shooting for it on sets. That the audiences also have enjoyed my performance means everything in the world to me and my happiness has only multiplied with it."

She was praise for the technicians and actress Ramya Krishna as well. "Working with Ramya Krishna (garu) was special, she's a fantastic actress and it's amazing to share screen space with her. I know the hardwork that the cinematographer Yuvaraj and composer Anup Rubens have put into the film. I am thankful to all technicians part of the project and also the audiences of Rajahmundry, who came to see us today. I am inspired by your energy levels and enthusiasm. I spent a lot of time here during the shoot. You received me so well for Uppena's success meet here as well."
