As far as director Srinivasa Raju is concerned, the reception to the songs of his next, Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, is exactly what he’d been counting on. For a romantic drama, music is of vital importance and if that clicks, half the job is done, he believes.

No teaser or trailer for Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi and here’s why

The songs composed by Arjun Janya have been one better than the other and done phenomenally well on streaming platforms, especially Dwapara, Chinnamma and My Marriage is Fixed. This despite the fact that Arjun was swamped with work at the time that he was approached for the film, including his own directorial, 45. The album even includes a song, Hey Gagana, by Sonu Nigam, whose voice is a must-use element in Ganesh films.

While Ganesh is immensely happy at the response to the music of Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi, when pressed about his personal favourite on the album, his choice was not what one would expect. As Golden Star Ganesh who has acted in the film, he says he likes the three hit numbers, Dwapara, Chinnamma and My Marriage is Fixed – they are songs he’s performed to. But the song that touched him at a much deeper level is not on this list and it’s not even Hey Gagana.

Ganesh’s heart lies with Ninna Hegalu, which has been sung by KS Chitra and written by Kaviraj. “I like Ninna Hegalu a lot; maybe because it is Chitra madam’s voice, which I have heard all through these years. Her voice and Kaviraj’s lyrics is a beautiful combination,” said Ganesh, speaking to Chittara Media.
