Director Raj Madiraju, who forayed into the industry with Tarun’s Uncle, shot to fame with his critically acclaimed Rushi and went onto make films in diverse genres later - Andhra Pori, Aithe 2.0, Grey: The Spy Who Loved Me, to name a few. He turned an actor with Kalyana Vaibhogame and is now making his OTT debut with ETV Win’s web film Krishna Rama.

Krishna Rama will be premiering on ETV Win on October 22. The film brings together a melange of talents including Rajendra Prasad, Gautami Tadimalla, 30 Weds 21 fame Ananya Sharma besides Ravi Varma, Racha Ravi and Gemini Suresh. Venkata Kiran Kumar Kallakuri of Adwitiya Movies, who also backed Raj Madiraju’s Grey, is the producer of the film.

The film’s trailer, launched yesterday, offers a glimpse of the film’s world. An elderly couple takes to social media to stay in touch with their family. They enjoy the instinctive nature of social media and take pride in being tech-savvy with the help of their grandchild. However, their world turns upside down soon and they take a drastic decision that threatens to alienate them from their family.

What are the elderly couple upto and why do they contemplate suicide? Raj Madiraju doesn’t reveal much about the conflict but does just enough to draw the attention of viewers. From the days of Thatha Manavadu to Badi Panthulu to Samsaram Oka Chadarangam, Amma Rajeenama and Rangamarthanda recently, a handful of films have explored different dimensions of generational disconnect.

The release is ideally timed for the festive season, emphasising togetherness and empathy. Srikanth Iyengar, Charan Lakkaraju, Kiran Kamaraju are also part of the lineup. Sunil Kasyap scores the music for the film which has cinematography by Ranganath Gogineni. Junaid Siddique is the editor and Vishnu Nair is the art director. Other recent releases on ETV Win include Mr Nagabhushanam, Dil Se.
