The team had initially labelled Kranti as a bona fide pan-India release!
The Kranti mania will be unleashed on January 26th and fans are geared up like never before to witness it first-hand. With shows beginning as early as 5:45 am in Bengaluru and most of them already sold out on the opening day, it is safe to say that the Challenging Star is back on the big screen with a bang. Kranti has close to 500 theatrical shows to its name in Bengaluru alone (with Mysuru being the second highest with 128) and the team would certainly hope that each of them yields great results.
However, one still seeks an update on the dubbed versions of Kranti and whether, or not, they will the light of day with respect to a theatrical release. Kranti, although being promoted as a bona fide Kannada film, was slated to release in 4 other dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. But with less than 24 hours to go for the release of the Kannada version (this article was published on the morning of January 25th), it is quite certain that the makers have adopted a separate release strategy for the dubbed versions.
During the trailer launch earlier this month, producer Shylaja Nag hinted at a direct OTT release for the dubbed versions, adding that the team is yet to finalize a strategy. Interestingly, the maiden poster of Kranti carried the title of the film in all the five intended languages of release but over time, the film has been touted as a standalone Kannada film with the dubbed forms almost never brought up during the many media interactions.
Could this be attributed to Darshan's refusal to participate in promoting the film in regions outside Karnataka? Or did the team deem the Kannada version as its only and best bet? Well, let's wait and watch. On the other hand, the overseas and rest-of-India release of Kranti (Kannada), too, has been underwhelming with the film having a handful shows to its name across the country.
