The fourth song from Challenging Star Darshan’s upcoming film was released moments ago. Written by lyricist-filmmaker Chetan Kumar, the song has been sung by Tippu, Ranjith and Anirudh Shastry
In the run-up to the release of Kranti, the team had promised a bunch of song releases and a trailer. The album, they said, had five songs, three of which - Dharani Mandala, Bombe Bombe and Pushpavati were released in quick succession, followed by the trailer, a week ago. All the song releases have been public events, with the entire team travelling to different parts of the state and getting a Darshan fan to do the honours of the actual launch.
Today, the fourth song, Don’t Mess With Him, was launched in Tumakuru. The song, written by lyricist-filmmaker Chetan Kumar and composed by Kranti director V Harikrishna, embodies the true spirit of the film’s tagline – Learn to Fight alone. Fans have been going ga-ga over Chetan’s lyrics. The song has been sung by Tippu, Ranjith and Anirudh Shastry and is all about the Darshan’s character, Kranti.
With less than two weeks to go for the film’s release, it remains to be seen if the team will have any more public events as part of the promotional campaign. Kranti will be in theatres on January 26, a date that the team had chosen to ensure that the Sabarimala pilgrimage season would be over, so that Darshan’s fans could come and celebrate the film in great spirits.
Kranti is Darshan’s second film with the team, who’d earlier made Yajamana with him. The actor has said that after his current project with Tharun Sudhir, that is still being called #D56, the next two projects will have him collaborate with the Roberrt maker and team Kranti, respectively, the order of which could be swapped around, depending on how things shape up then.
Kranti is being released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, although Darshan has not promoted it as a pan-India film. Over the Republic Day holiday, it will be in direct competition with Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited comeback film, Pathaan.
