Kottukkaali, the recently released Tamil film starring actors Anna Ben and Soori in the lead roles, is all set to make its OTT debut. The film will be available for streaming on Prime Video from September 27 onwards

Kottukkaali is a critically acclaimed Tamil film which made a splash at the international film festival circuit. Helmed by PS Vinothraj, who earlier made Koozhangal (Pebbles), Kottukkaali is a film starring Anna Ben and Soori in the lead roles. The film’s international title is The Adamant Girl.

The film was released in theatres on August 23, and following its theatrical run, the film will make its OTT debut soon. It will be available on Prime Video from September 27 onwards, the streaming platform announced.

Kottukkaali is a film set against the backdrop of Madurai and revolves around a girl who refuses to speak up and communicate with her abusive household. The family believes she has committed a sin by loving a boy from the other caste. This leads to the family thinking she is possessed and take her to a temple to the shaman. The film is a road trip drama on what happens to the characters in the film during the journey.

Kottukkaali is shot using the sync sound method. The film’s technical crew consists of B Sakthivel cranking the camera and Ganesh Siva as the editor. The film has no prominent music, with sound design by Suren G.

Kottukkaali received positive reviews upon its release. It marks Anna Ben’s debut in Tamil. The film is backed by Sivakarthikeyan under the banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions. For audience outside India, the film is available on Simply South to stream.
