The announcement of a Tamil remake of Mollywood film Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was a surprise for Kollywood movie buffs. Debutant Sabari and Saravanan are directing the remake, titled Koogle Kuttapa, which will have filmmaker-turned-actor KS Ravikumar playing the lead role in it.
He himself is producing the movie and the directors were his erstwhile assistants. Suriya had unveiled the project's first look, while Sivakarthikeyan had released its teaser a few months ago. Now, the team has organized a pre-release event and launched the trailer. Silambarasan unveiled it through his social media page and wished success to the entire team. The actor had played the lead role in Ravikumar's Saravana which was released in 2006.
The two-and-a-half minute trailer offers more insight into the film's story which revolves around the relationship between a robot and an old man who forgets his loneliness in the former's company. Ravikumar essays the role of the old man which was played by Suraj Venjaramoodu in the acclaimed Malayalam version.
Bigg Boss Tamil fame Tharshan and Losliya play pivotal roles in Koogle Kuttapa which has Yogi Babu, too, appearing in a significant character. Arvi has cranked the camera for the movie which has music composed by Ghibran.
Praveen Antony and Sivakumar have helmed editing and art direction for the film respectively. Sandy and Viji Sathish have choreographed dance moves for the project, the release date of which is expected to be announced soon.
The makers of the remake version, which has been shot in Kuttralam, Tenkasi and foreign locations, have made a few changes in its screenplay to suit the nativity factor for Tamil audience. Kollywood is awaiting a few remakes this year, and Koogle Kuttapa is one among those.
