Stills from the trailer of Kohrra.
Starring Barun Sobti and Harleen Sethi in pivotal roles, the trailer of Kohrra has been dropped today. This upcoming Netflix crime thriller simply showcases how complex relationships can be in real life. To add a scoop to the complexities in the film is a murder case which can either worsen the relationships or strengthen them.
The trailer follows the death of an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) and the impact of grief, mutual suspicion and hidden secrets of the characters involved in the drama. Set in the heartland of Punjab and steeped in suspense, this new series follows dual storylines of hunting down a killer and navigating love and relationships.
In a press statement by Netflix, it reads, “Kohrra is a masterful exploration of human nature, depicting the darkness within, where the search for justice becomes intertwined with the politics of interpersonal relationships. Brought to life by a critically acclaimed cast including Suvinder Vicky, Barun Sobti, Varun Badola, Harleen Sethi, Rachel Shelly, and Manish Chaudhary and helmed by the creative powerhouse comprising Sudip Sharma, Randeep Jha, and Clean Slate Filmz Productions, Kohrra promises an authentic narrative that goes beyond the age-old police investigation-led storylines.”
Interestingly, Clean Slate Filmz Productions is a production house founded by superstar Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Ssharma. In March 2022, Anushka Sharma decided to step away from her company Clean Slate Filmz. Her brother Karnesh Ssharma solely handles the company now.
Talking about actor Barun Sobti, 2023 is a special year for him. He recently featured in the Amazon Mini TV series Badtameez Dil in which he played a titular role as Karan Singh Rathod. This series is one of the most loved series of the year.
Harleen Sethi, on the other hand, is best known for her titular role in the digital series, Broken But Beautiful (2018).
