Koffee With Karan Season 8 Episode 3 Story:

Before they completely mess it up and go all "coy," B-Town's newest besties, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, dish about the basics of their personal and professional lives.

Koffee With Karan Season 8 Episode 3 Review:

When two female actors come together on the Koffee With Karan couch, the sparks are more focused on whether there are insecurities, having a common partner, or even how much of a friend they are. The contemporaries are often pitted against each other, and most of the time it goes against the agenda. The actors come out flourishing as close friends who, despite their insecurities, hide it very well. They are truly friends; courtesy of their Instagram pages and having a common partner, the world of Bollywood is indeed small.

The latest episode of the Karan Johar-hosted show had Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday gracing the couch. Well, the combination comes as no surprise, as Sara has already appeared with Janhvi Kapoor in the last season. More newcomers (from the "nepo" gang) need to join the industry for varied combos in the next few seasons.

The promo was cut in such a way that, oh, many elephants will be addressed in the room, beginning with the current "it" couple Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya, Sara's rumoured relationship with Shubman Gill, and both actors having a common "ex," Kartik Aaryan. Well, if you thought that was the entirety of the 52-minute episode, you are mistaken; it was only the first five minutes.

With a cue from Ananya wanting to talk about her "work," we were taken back to the time when Siddhant Chaturvedi spoke about the "struggles" of star kids after their debut film, and also Ananya mentioned in the same roundtable that her father never made it Koffee With Karan. The conversation was held with them still carrying the baggage like the Internet does and not letting anyone forget anything.

It was a very chatty episode, but now that you think of it, there wasn't anything substantial that they said that stood out. The carefulness by the actors is still maintained, and the innocent wordplay took up the entire conversation. It seemed like not Sara, but Karan and Ananya were both into shayari, with many puns being intended. It went on until they even called out Aditya Roy Kapur's movie names in their conversation. Well, I wonder, was he getting hiccups throughout the shoot?

The episode reminded me of Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor's infamous episode, where the topic of discussion was Ranbir Kapoor. However, this one was in positive stride, where Ananya's possessiveness came out, and at one point in time, Sara even addressed him as a "hamper." Whatever floats their boat!

The episode also came as a redemption from Karan's side after he was heavily criticised for having a bias towards Janhvi rather than Sara. This time too, she spoke at length about her equation with Kartik Aaryan and how friendships in the industry work when nothing is permanent, not even fallouts.

But it also seemed like her side of the story was short-lived, with Karan addressing his fallouts with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kajol. Thankfully, Sara didn't wait for another question but continued to give her stance.

The first half of the episode was so-called heavy, even making Amrita Singh (Sara's mom) and Bhavana Pandey (Ananya's mom) "momagers." Kris Jenner, who? This unwanted sequence makes you forward the episode and wonder, What was the point even?

The rapid fire came as a breath of fresh air, and I agree that Sara had better questions than Ananya. Well, the girls indeed talk a lot and really go off-tangent while attempting to make a so-called point.

But what can we expect when everything is out in the open, and what more can they do to cover up or make revelations about their lives? Even the answer to "Who is Orry?" is out there on Instagram, and they didn't add anything new to his bio.

Koffee With Karan Season 8 Episode 3 Verdict:

Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday have a lot to say about their lives, but having Karan Johar as the host means that he knows most of the stories, and only a little is reserved for the world to hear.
