The actress played the first Mitin that was released in 2019.
Koel Mallik did her last venture with SVF in 2015. It was Raja Chanda’s Besh Korechi Prem Korechi that also features Jeet in the lead. As per reports, the Bengali film industry got divided into two big camps – Nispal Singh’s Surinder Films and Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni’s SVF after that. After the divide, Koel worked closely in films produced by her husband Nispal Singh. After seven long years, the actress is coming back in an SVF venture with the second film of the Mitin Masi franchise. Directed by Arindam Sil, the film is jointly produced by SVF and Camelia.
The first Mitin Mashi was released in 2019 by Camelia. The second one is part of their several planned joint ventures. After the success of Byomkesh Hatyamancha, which was also a joint production, the two production companies are supposed to start shooting the Mitin Masi film. However, talks regarding this second film are still in the initial stage with no agreement being made yet.
The film will be based on Suchitra Bhattacharya’s novel Keralay Kistimat. Shooting will be held in December in Kerala. The first Mitin Masi film was released during 2019 Durgapuja. Work on the second film was supposed to start in 2020, but everything got disrupted due to the pandemic. Koel was seen on the big screen for the last time in 2021 in Parambrata Chatterjee’s Bony. She has a number of Surinder's films in her hand. Earlier, Koel took a temporary break after the birth of her son Kabir.
Meanwhile, Arindam is currently busy with his Zee5’s Feluda series, Shabash Feluda. In his series, Parambrata will be seen as the iconic detective character. Rwitobroto Mukherjee will be seen as Topshe while Ritwick Chakraborty, Sauraseni Maitra and Rudranil Ghosh will be seen as important characters. The shooting of the series is in full swing.
