The director of the movie, Dinjith Ayyathan, spoke to OTTplay about how the performance of the veteran actor took them by surprise on numerous occasions while filming.
Kishkindha Kaandam, the most recent Malayalam film, is generating a lot of buzz for its intriguing story and acting. Many people are praising Vijayaraghavan in particular, who steals the show as the gruff and mysterious father, Appu Pillai. The director of the movie, Dinjith Ayyathan, spoke to OTTplay about how the performance of the veteran actor took them by surprise on numerous occasions while filming.
The director disclosed that the crew had originally chosen three or four actors, including Vijayaraghavan, for the character. "But before casting Vijayraghavan as Appu Pillai, the film's screenwriter Bahul Ramesh had taken inspiration from N N Pillai sir's gestures and tones," he claimed. Dinjith stated that the Pookkaalam star discovered they had borrowed references from his father just before the film's theatrical debut.
It is fascinating to see him embrace Appu Pillai's personality. The director stated, "He had mastered certain hand gestures that exactly suited the character. He continued by saying that in a moment where Vijayaraghavan and Aparna Balamurali are working on an outdoor sequence, the former actually stumbles but masterfully keeps the character's equilibrium by expressing the appropriate emotions and feelings at that moment.
The audience is giving the thriller, which debuted on big screens worldwide on September 12 during the Onam season, excellent praise for the genre it dealt with. In just one week, Kishkindha Kaandam has already brought in over Rs 18 crore collection globally. The film, which features Vijayaraghavan, Asif Ali, and Aparna Balamurali in the key roles, additionally includes Jagadish, Ashokan, Vyshnavi Raj, Major Ravi, Nizhalkal Ravi, and Shebin Benson in significant parts.
The movie is lauded for its equal amounts of suspicion, empathy, and concern that are sprinkled in, allowing us to completely comprehend what each of the emotionally-burdened characters experiences in this thriller. The engaging performances and screenplay also enhance the quality of the film.
