Laal Singh Chaddha was one of the most anticipated releases of 2022. Aamir Khan was coming back with a film after 4 years of Thugs Of Hindostan. However, the film received a lukewarm response upon its theatrical release. Co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh, Aamir's Laal Singh Chaddha failed to work wonders at the box office. Now, in an interview, Kiran Rao has revealed how LSC's debacle affected her ex-husband.

Kiran Rao on how Laal Singh Chaddha's failure affected Aamir Khan

In an interview with Zoom, Kiran Rao addressed the disappointment surrounding Laal Sinh Chaddha's box office failure. The co-producer of LSC said, "It's really disheartening when you put in all the effort and it doesn't work, which happened with Laal Singh Chaddha and it definitely affected Aamir quite deeply." She stated that the entire team of LSC was affected by it.

Kiran also highlighted Laal Singh Chaddha's importance to Aamir and said that it was his 'dream project'. Although the film received some positive feedback on social media, Rao stated that the film ultimately failed to connect with the masses and they must accept that reality.

For those who are unaware, Laal Singh Chaddha was the Indian adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks in the lead role. LSC was directed by Advait Chandan and written by Atul Kulkarni.

What's Kiran Rao up to these days?

Meanwhile, Kiran Rao has been busy with promotions for her directorial venture Laapata Ladies. The film is backed by Kiran as well as Aamir. The film has been written by Sneha Desai, Biplab Goswami, and Divyanidhi Sharma. The star cast of Laapata Ladies includes Atishay Jain Akhil, Shivam Ghawariya, and Nitanshi Goel. It's a story about two brides who get lost on a train. The film has been set in 2001, in rural India. Laapata Ladies is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 1, 2024.
