King of Kotha’s Pramod Veliyanad on facing cyber-attacks after the film’s release

Starring Dulquer Salmaan, the Abhilash Joshiy-directed film failed to perform at the box office

The Dulquer Salmaan-starrer gangster drama film King of Kotha directed by Abhilash Joshiy, was among this year’s big Onam releases. However, despite huge promotions, the film failed to impress the audience at the theatres. Later, the film’s cast and crew members said that negative campaigns launched against the film on social media led to the mixed reviews. Now, actor Pramod Veliyanad has revealed that he faced cyber-attacks while promoting the film before its theatrical release.

‘King of Kotha is my first big-budget film’

“I am still facing cyber-attacks for my comments praising the set of King of Kotha and Dulquer’s performance in the movie. It’s the first big-budget film that I have acted in, and it certainly holds a special place in my heart,” Pramod said in an interview with Movie World Media.

Additionally, the actor said that he cannot say bad things about a movie, which is a source of income for him. “I am an ordinary man, who used to be a part of small plays during local festivals. Big productions, like King of Kotha were a completely new experience for me. I can confidently say that King of Kotha is an exceptional film, and I will cherish it forever,” he elaborated.

Before the release of King of Kotha Pramod described it as a major film and praised Dulquer’s performance in it. However, after the film was released, it received a lukewarm response at the box office, and did not meet people’s expectations.

The movie also features Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Vinod Jose, Gokul Suresh and Shabeer Kallarackkal in crucial roles. The film is now available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
