The wait is over. The 29th Kolkata International Film Festival started on December 5. The opening will take place at 4 pm in Netaji Indoor Stadium. Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries from Bollywood and Tollywood were present there.

Salman Khan arrived in Kolkata in the morning and Minister Babul Supriyo welcomed him at the airport. Salman wore a black full-sleeve tee shirt and blue jeans. Salman waved at his fans in the airport and sent greetings. Anil Kapoor came on Monday evening and Minister Sujit Basu received him. Satrughna Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, and Mahesh Bhatt joined the ceremony. Dona Ganguly and her school Diksha Manjari's students performed with the opening song that was written and composed by Mamata Banerjee.

More than 200 films will be screened across 23 Kolkata halls. Nandan, the center of the festival, is full of crowd and excitement. Selfie zones have been set at different locations. The place is decorated with special posters that attract the attention of the cine lovers. Every year, the festival's 'Cine Adda' takes place at the Ektara Mancha. This year, the stage is decorated with paintings and hand fans. There are several installations and food stalls. Films will start to be shown at 23 halls in Kolkata on Wednesday.
