Amazon MGM Studios has developed a feature documentary titled Kids Are Growing Up that will explore the life and career of Australian singer-songwriter The Kid LAROI. The docu-film will trace his journey from his early beginnings to his meteoric rise to fame, including his Grammy-nominated status.
Michael Ratner's brand-new documentary about The Kid LAROI provides a close-up look at his ascent to fame and the emotional journey that led to his top-charting album, The First Time (2023). The trailer features snippets of his collaboration with Justin Bieber on the chart-topping single ‘Stay’, which was released in 2021, and soon The Kid LAROI rose to fame. The docu-film Kids Are Growing Up is produced by OBB Pictures and chronicles the rise of Australian rapper The Kid LAROI, whose real name is Charlton Howard. It follows his journey from his early days in Australia to his chart-topping success, including his hit single ‘Without You’ (later featuring Miley Cyrus). The film features interviews with LAROI himself, as well as Justin Bieber and Post Malone, offering insights into his creative process and personal struggles. It also delves into his mental health journey and the impact of his mentor Juice Wrld's death in 2019.
Michael D. Ratner, filmmaker and founder of OBB Media, has collaborated with Amazon MGM on several other successful projects, including the Grammy-nominated documentary Justin Bieber: Our World (2021) and the docu-series Justin Bieber: Seasons (2020). He has also directed critically acclaimed films like Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil (2021). OBB Media's events and specials division, OBB Live, has recently produced The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Special, A Very Demi Holiday Special, and Kevin Hart's Cold as Balls live from Super Bowl LVIII.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s ‘Stay’ topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for seven consecutive weeks, and the song also won Top Hot 100 Song as well as Top Collaboration honours at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.
