Actress Halle Berry, who is famous for her works in Hugh Jackman’s X-Men (2000), DC Comics’ Catwoman (2005), and Keanu Reeves’ John Wick: Chapter 3 (2019), made the world stunned with her high-octane action sequences in Kidnap in 2017. Directed by Luis Prieto, the action thriller film will soon make its India debut through Lionsgate Play.
When and where to watch Kidnap
The Halle Berry-starrer Kidnap is all set to make its OTT debut on Lionsgate Play, on September 27, 2024. The interesting part is you can also watch the film through OTTplay Premium. Apart from Berry, the thriller also stars Sage Correa, Chris McGinn, Lew Temple, Jason Winston George, Christopher Berry, and Taryn Terrell in pivotal roles.
What's the plot of Kidnap film
When single mother Karla Dyson (Halle Berry) receives the devastating news that her 6-year-old son, Frankie McCoy-Dyson (Sage Correa), has been kidnapped, her world is shattered into pieces. With a fierce determination burning within her, she embarks on a relentless search to find her child, leaving now stone unturned in her pursuit.
Karla scours the streets, knocks on doors, and seeks help from anyone who is willing to listen to her, refusing to give up even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. As the hours tick by, Karla’s desperation grows, but so does her resolve, driving her to try every possible avenue to reunite with her beloved son, and bring him back home safely.
Halle Berry’s experience working on Kidnap
Back in 2017, during the promotion of Kidnap, actress Halle Berry had shared her amazing experience working on the film with Ebony. She shared that the script inspired her because it highlighted women empowerment. She also felt proud to produce the film under her banner—606 Films.
“That’s named after the 606 Senate bill that I got passed, the anti-paparazzi stalking law that protects my kids. It’s very much a company I want to use to empower women, women of colour, and to tell stories that are meaningful to us. This script fits squarely into that philosophy”, Berry stated.
