Fans could have edited a much better announcement promo, they say
Kiccha Sudeep is literally keeping his fans on pins and needles, as they wait with bated breath for details about his next acting gig, #Kiccha46. The Kannada superstar had earlier tweeted that he’s greenlit three projects, so the question that remained was as to which one he would choose as his next after Vikrant Rona, which came out in July last year. There’s been a lot of speculation about who the director could be and given how much Sudeep had spoken about wanting to work with Vikrant Rona maker Anup Bhandari again, he was expected to be in the forefront with Billa Ranga Baashaa, a film that they announced four years ago. Names like Tamil directors Cheran, Venkat Prabhu and Ranna maker Nanda Kishore also came up, among others, but Sudeep has given no indication as to who will direct him after all.
Last evening, he finally let fans know that Kalaippuli S Thanu and his V Creations, the banner behind films like Theri, Kabali, Asuran, Karnan, among many others, will back his next, the promo of which is expected to be out on June 1. Fans who were expecting to hear word on the director or the title of the film were, no doubt, excited about the collaboration, given that Kalaippuli Thanu’s track record of making content-oriented cinema has been strong. However, given the star power of Sudeep, they reckoned that the announcement should have been a lot better.
“Production house should keep in mind that they are working with biggest star of Indian cinema. An announcement like this…. Seriously?” wrote Bharath Gowda. “The colour grading of the promo was bad; even a fan made one would have been better. They should have just made a poster and announced this. When they are announcing a movie with a superstar they should maintain some standards, quality,” Vedanth chimed in, while Shreyas added, “Kinemasterli edit madidare. Very bad way to announce a star hero movie.” Another user urged the production house to respect Sudeep’s star power, writing, “This felt like an announcement for a tier 3 hero. Please work on the quality going forward.”
